Child and Adolescent Therapy

I work with children and teens who are having a difficult time navigating their emotions, relationships, or life circumstances. Much of my career has been spent supporting children in schools, homes, and individual therapy, and I deeply value their creativity, perspectives, and developing sense of self. Some children experience the world differently and benefit from intentional support as they build emotional awareness, regulation, social skills, and confidence. Therapy can provide another trusted adult in their life, along with a safe space to process, create, and play. I also support children who have experienced trauma, painful transitions, bereavement, anxiety, or victimization. As a family therapist, I take a highly collaborative approach and include parents and caregivers in treatment planning and decision-making whenever appropriate.

My Approach

My work with children is creative, supportive, evidence based and tailored to their developmental needs. I use play, artwork, and a mindset-based approach to build emotional literacy, regulation, social skills, self-awareness, and self-management in ways children can understand and apply. I also support anxious children and help young people process major transitions, including divorce, loss, and bereavement, so they can feel more secure, capable, and connected. For children with a history of extensive trauma, EMDR and bilateral interventions are available.
